Welcome to Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training
Our German Shepherds are bred from carefully selected lines, including Kirschental herding lines. Dogs from our program are bred for sound conformation while avoiding the extremes frequently seen in the show ring today. They embody the true character of the German Shepherd: confident, stable, versatile, and loyal. All of our dogs are dual registered with the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club.
We raise dogs that are devoted family companions and reliable working partners. Every dog from our program is a reflection of our commitment to health, temperament, and working ability. Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training is owned by an experienced Certified Dog Trainer.
Puppy Placement
We believe every puppy deserves a loving home and every family deserves the right dog. Our puppy placement process is highly selective. We take the time to get to know each family, understand their lifestyle, and match each puppy to the environment where they will truly thrive.
Our preference is for loving companion homes or qualified service dog placements. Puppies will not be placed for training in bitesports or personal protection. We don’t just place puppies, we build relationships. Families who bring home a Haus Mahr dog become part of our family for life. We offer lifetime support for every dog from our program.
All-breed Training Using Proven, Science-based Methods
Training at Haus Mahr is built on a simple foundation: motivation, clear communication, and consistency, never fear or force. Our science-based methods, rooted in positive reinforcement, teach dogs to problem-solve, build resilience, and develop a genuine love of learning.
We offer all-breed training services, helping dogs of every size, age, and background become confident, focused, and eager partners to the people in their lives. Whether you have a new puppy, an adolescent dog testing boundaries, or an adult dog in need of a fresh start, we are here to help.
We offer training support for:
- Puppy socialization and foundational training
- Basic obedience
- Preparation for AKC Family Dog Programs including: Virtual Home Manners, S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog, and Fit Dog
Please note that we do not offer behavior modification services for dogs with a history of aggression, biting or resource guarding.
Our Commitment to Rescue
At Haus Mahr, we make a lifelong commitment to every dog that comes from our program so they never end up in shelters. Should circumstances ever change for one of our dogs, they will always have a home.
We are proud to support the rescue community by offering education, resources, and training guidance to families navigating the journey of adopting or rehabilitating a rescued German Shepherd. Every German Shepherd, regardless of where they came from, deserves a knowledgeable, committed advocate in their corner. Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training is an advocate for the German Shepherd Dog breed, not just the dogs from our program.

We only raise German Shepherds. We value quality over quantity and put our hearts into raising every puppy. Dogs in our program are family, they live in our home.
