3. Nutrition Consultations
Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training, LLC offers basic canine nutrition consultations as a supplementary service to support the overall health and wellbeing of your dog. These consultations may cover topics such as general feeding guidelines, food selection, portion sizing, weight management, treat usage during training, and transitioning between diets. For liability reasons, we cannot recommend raw diets.
3.1 Not a Substitute for Veterinary Care
Our nutrition consultations are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our trainers are not licensed veterinarians or veterinary nutritionists, and nothing communicated during a nutrition consultation should be interpreted as a clinical recommendation or medical opinion.
You should always consult a licensed veterinarian before making significant changes to your dog’s diet, particularly if your dog has a known or suspected health condition, is pregnant or nursing, is a senior dog, or is a very young puppy with specific developmental needs.
3.2 Dogs with Chronic or Complex Health Conditions
Dogs with chronic, ongoing, or complex health conditions require dietary management that goes beyond the scope of our consultations. If your dog has been diagnosed with, or shows signs of, any of the following conditions, their diet must be overseen and approved by a licensed veterinarian or board-certified veterinary nutritionist:
- Heart disease or congestive heart failure
- Kidney disease or chronic renal insufficiency
- Diabetes mellitus or other endocrine disorders
- Liver disease or hepatic conditions
- Gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI)
- Cancer or dogs undergoing oncological treatment
- Obesity requiring medically supervised weight loss
- Food allergies or intolerances requiring an elimination or hydrolyzed protein diet
- Urinary tract conditions requiring prescription or mineral-controlled diets
- Neurological conditions that may be affected by dietary factors
- Any other condition for which a veterinarian has prescribed a specific therapeutic diet
We will not provide nutrition guidance that conflicts with a veterinary prescription diet or an existing dietary plan established by your dog’s veterinarian. If you are unsure whether your dog’s condition is relevant, please consult your veterinarian before booking a nutrition consultation with us.
3.3 Limitation of Liability for Nutrition Advice
Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training, LLC accepts no liability for any adverse health outcomes, dietary complications, or veterinary costs arising from the application of general nutrition guidance provided during our consultations. All nutrition information is provided in good faith based on current general knowledge and is not tailored to your dog’s individual medical profile unless a full veterinary history has been reviewed and approved by a licensed veterinarian.
4. Eligibility & Requirements
4.1 Human Requirements
You must be at least 18 years of age to enter into these Terms. If you are not at least 18 years of age, do not access our website, use its Services or purchase products.
4.2 Dog Requirements
All dogs participating in our programs must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be at least 8 weeks of age (classes may have specific age restrictions)
- Be healthy enough to participate in training as deemed by a licensed veterinarian
Dogs may NOT participate in our programs if they have a history of aggression, biting or resource guarding (see Section 2).
We reserve the right to refuse service to any dog we deem unsafe.
5. Bookings & Payments
5.1 Booking
Sessions may be booked through our website, by phone, or by email. All bookings are subject to trainer availability and are not confirmed until you receive a written confirmation from us.
5.2 Fees & Payment
All fees are listed on our website and are subject to change. Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal.
5.3 Packages & Expiration
Training packages must be used within 6 months of the purchase date. Unused sessions within a package will expire after this period and are non-refundable.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Our Cancellation Policy is as follows:
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before a scheduled session are eligible for a full refund or credit toward a future booking. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are not eligible for a refund or credit.
If we need to cancel due to trainer illness, emergency, or extreme weather, you’ll receive a full reschedule at no cost or a complete refund- whichever you prefer.
For multi-session packages, any refunds are calculated using the per-session retail rate for sessions already completed, which will be deducted from your original package price.
Our No-show Policy is as follows:
If you do not attend your scheduled session without prior notice, no refund or credit will be issued. If you have not arrived within 10 minutes of your scheduled start time, your session will be treated as a cancellation and no refund will be provided. Please note that late arrivals cannot extend the session end time, as the trainer’s time is in high demand and back-to-back scheduling may be in place.
7. Health & Safety
7.1 Dog Health
You represent and warrant that your dog is in good health. If your dog shows signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior prior to a session, you agree to notify us immediately and reschedule if necessary. We reserve the right to refuse service on health or safety grounds without penalty.
7.2 Biting & Aggression
You must disclose any history of aggression, biting or resource guarding prior to booking. Failure to disclose such history may result in immediate termination of Services without refund. Dogs with known bite histories and/or serious behavior issues are ineligible for our programs (see Section 2).
7.3 On-Leash & Equipment
All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. You are responsible for providing the appropriate equipment for your dog.
Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training, LLC is committed to science-based training methods that use positive reinforcement. We follow guidelines set forth by the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB). Any equipment that causes or has the potential to cause discomfort, pain, or fear is strictly prohibited in all of our training activities. This applies regardless of the owner’s prior use of such equipment.
Clients will be asked to remove prohibited equipment before a session begins. Refusal to do so may result in the session being canceled, with the cancellation policy applying as set out in Section 6.
The following equipment is prohibited from all our training activities:
- Shock collars (also known as e-collars or remote training collars)
- Prong collars
- Choke chains or slip collars used as corrective tools
- Retractable/flexi leashes
- Any device or tool intended to startle, intimidate, or inflict discomfort as a form of correction
If you are unsure whether a piece of equipment is permitted, please contact us.
8. Liability & Assumption of Risk
Dog training and handling involves inherent risks, including but not limited to biting, jumping, scratching, and unpredictable animal behavior. By booking our Services, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
8.1 Owner Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your dog’s actions and behavior at all times, including during training sessions. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training, LLC, its trainers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your dog’s behavior, your actions, or any breach of these Terms.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Haus Mahr German Shepherds & Training, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including property damage, personal injury, or loss of data, arising from or related to our Services. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific session or service giving rise to the claim.
8.3 No Guarantee of Results
Training outcomes vary significantly depending on the dog’s temperament, age, prior experiences, and the owner’s consistency in reinforcing training at home. We do not guarantee specific behavioral outcomes. Results depend heavily on continued practice and reinforcement outside of sessions.

15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
